The Comet Bradfield 1980 t has shown a wide spectrum of atomic, molecular and ionic species. About 200 species have been identified, yielding absolute fluxes for the lines present between 5850 and 9050 A and evidence for the existence of a new species. At least 226 unidentified lines belong to neutral carbon monoxide, and a first detection of H2S(+) is considered possible. The fact that carbon monoxide emission lines were not previously detected in the visible part of the spectrum implies that the present observations are related to an exceptional outburst.
