Aperture synthesis observations in the 6 cm formaldehyde line are presented for four fields containing ultracompact H II regions associated with OH maser sources. The H2CO optical depths are found to be about an order of magnitude higher toward the ultracompact H II/OH sources than toward other sources in the fields. It is argued that dense neutral material surrounding the H II regions is responsible for the absorption. Gas densities are estimated using an LVG radiative transfer calculation. The H2CO absorption line velocity is compared to the velocity of the OH and H2O maser emission, and to the recombination line and CO velocity. The neutral shell appears to be stationary, while the OH masers may be infalling.
