The Bakos and Tremko (1981) V lightcurve for the single-lined spectrum eclipsing binary AN And is analyzed in terms of the Wood (1972) model, and absolute elements are tentatively estimated under the assumption of a primary star mass of 1.8 solar masses. In contrast to previously published opinion, AN And is here characterized as a detached binary consisting of an A7m primary, which appears to have evolved slightly from the main sequence, together with a much fainter and smaller early G unevolved star.
