We present a measurement of the galaxy merger rate to z 2.5 from Hubble Ultra-Deep Field high-resolution imaging and redshifts. We measure the merger rate from two methods: the traditional pair count and the Lee ratio, a statistic developed to quantify the bimodality in a dataset. With these methods, we show that the merger rate significantly deviates from the traditional power-law parametrization and peaks at z 2. For 0.51) merging is essential.
