We combined high-resolution absorption spectroscopy in the gas-phase with anharmonic vibrational calculations to determine the anharmonic parameters of the fundamental vibrational modes of naphthalene and quinoline. Our work could provide new insights into the band-shape of some AIBs, particularly the blue-degraded 12.7 μm band observed in many astrophysical sources.
