We propose to perform spatially resolved spectroscopy of the Ophiuchus cluster of galaxies over spatial scales of 100 kpc to map its temperature, metal abundance and emission measure structures. We also aim to resolve the ionization temperature structure using the flux ratio of the FeXXV and FeXXVI lines. Comparing the ionization temperatures with continuum-derived temperatures enables the mapping of the non-thermal component and thus removing the bias in the continuum-based temperature measurement. This information will provide insights into the merger scenario.
