Ground state OH line observations of the biconical nebula V 645 Cygni
have revealed an unusual maser at 1665 MHz. Although the characteristics
are reminiscent of some type I OH masers, no polarization has been found
and the 1665 MHz emission probably underwent an intensity variation.
Possible interpretations of the results are discussed.
