The IMF of the field of the 30 Doradus super-association is studied, and compared with that of NGC2070, the ionizing cluster of the Tarantula nebula, and of LH104, an OB association within a super-bubble. To study only intrinsic differences all three IMFs were derived using the same data set, reduction procedures, and analysis techniques. All three IMFs are found to be consistent with being drawn from the same power-law form with a te{salpeter1955} exponent, but only if their star-formation histories differ.
