A mere decade ago, no planets were known around any star other than the
Sun. Today, over 100 extrasolar giant planets have been identified.
Some of these objects travel on totally unexpected orbits. Many more
surprises await us, as our observational capabilities continue to
advance at a rapidly increasing pace.
