The circumstellar Ca II H & K lines in β Pictoris have been
monitored from New Zealand since 1992 in order to confront the `FEB'
hypothesis for their variability. On one night the absorptions are
evocative of a body crossing the stellar disc in a prograde equatorial
orbit.
