The speculation by Shapley & Sawyer, that the luminosities of Galactic globular clusters are correlated with their central concentrations of light, is strongly confirmed. This correlation does not appear to depend on cluster metallicity. Due to the destruction of the less concentrated clusters by disk and bulge shocks, this correlation extends over a greater range at large Galactocentric distances than it does close to the Galactic center.
