The status of chemically peculiar (CP) stars belonging to binary systems is reviewed. By CP stars, we mean essentially B and A-type stars of the main sequence with peculiar classification of the various Ap and Am types, and also the λ Bootis stars. We discuss the role of duplicity in each type of CP stars, and draw attention to a few potentially interesting objects. More exotic objects like post-AGB and Barium stars are only briefly discussed.
