SPEAR is an imaging-spectroscopy mission scheduled to launch in 2003. SPEAR will produce the first all-sky spectral maps in the Far-UV during its first year of operation, and conduct deep pointed observations in the following year. SPEAR all-sky maps will provide a global characterization of Galactic plasma by mapping its emission with 10' resolution. The independent sky-map pixels can be binned as desired to facilitate statistical analysis or model comparisons.
