Two Wolf-Rayet stars belonging to the carbon sequence have been observed in the core of 30 Doradus. These are the first WC stars to be identified in 30 Dor, where previously more than 10 WN stars had been found. The absolute luminosities of the two WC stars may be significantly greater than those of the early-type WC stars found in other parts of the Large Magellanic Cloud, although more accurate and uniform photometry is needed to verify this result.
