A reflection nebula in the constellation Monoceros, position RA 06 h
39.2 m, dec. +08° 44'. It is small (2' by 1') but of quite high
surface brightness. The nebula's average magnitude is 10, but, as Edwin
Hubble discovered in 1916, it varies in brightness, mirroring the
variability of its illuminating star, R Monocerotis....
