(the Lesser Lion; abbrev. LMi, gen. Leonis Minoris; area 232 sq.deg.) A
northern constellation which lies between Ursa Major and Leo, and
culminates at midnight in late February. It was introduced by the
astronomer Johannes Hevelius (1611-87) of Danzig (Gdansk), who included
it in his atlas Firmamentum Sobiescianum sive Uranographia of 1687....
