Although there are strong indications that successive 11-year cycles belonging to the same 22-year cycle are not dependent, signs of interaction between successive 11-year cycles that do not belong to the same 22-year cycle are not negligible, albeit weak. It is suggested that the evolution of a given 11-year cycle depends on basic parameters characterizing the configuration of the previous cycle, and that such a dependency, if real, offers a simple means for the estimation of solar activity features one 11-year cycle in advance. In particular, an almost perfect correlation is found between the rise time of even-numbered solar cycles and the ascending branch slope of the subsequent odd-numbered ones.
