An updated period study of the detached close binary system TX Her is presented. It was our hope to decide whether the pattern in the (O-C) diagram is purely periodic and due to a light time effect in a triple system, or cyclic but non periodic so that we are dealing with irregular real period variations. Statistically, a slight preference for the latter case appears. If in the future this hypothesis definitely turns out to be true, these period changes could be caused by anisotropic mass ejection from the surface of the F-type component.
