The V lightcurves observed by Williamon (1974) and by Padalia (1979) of the eclipsing binary HE Aquarii, classified as a βLyrae-type star, have been solved using a minicomputer version of the Wilson and Devinney (1971) method for light curve synthesis. An estimate of the absolute dimensions of the system has been performed, upon assuming for the primary a mass of 1.9 Msun corresponding to its position on the main sequence. The system results to be composed of an A8V primary and a K3-K4 secondary which fills its lobe.
