Ground-based IR observations (1.25-5.0 microns) of Comet Halley at heliocentric distances of 2.3-0.7 AU are discussed. In December 1985, the energy distribution in the 0.36-5 micron spectral range was obtained. The observed color temperatures in the 3.5-5 micron region are higher than equilibrium black-body ones at the same heliocentric distances, indicating the existence of small absorbing particles (less than 0.5 micron).
