The authors discuss possible topological structures of Friedmann models and consider observational consequences of the so-called "small universe". Two features are discussed: periodicity of distances and the effect of opposite pairs, e.g. the possibility of observing two copies of the same object in opposite directions on the sky. The latter feature is studied for pairs of galaxies and quasars, clusters of galaxies and quasars, and pairs of quasars. The authors also study this effect for quasars assuming their short lifetime. No prominent excess over random coincidences is found but this does not exclude possibility that we live in a "small universe".
