Photoelectric observations of spectroscopic binaries in the open cluster IC 4665 do not reveal the presence of a single eclipsing variable. A statistical analysis suggests the existence of a predominant orientation of the orbital planes of these spectroscopic binaries; the angle of inclination lies between 35 and 45 deg. Additional observational data are presented which confirm a preferred orientation of the orbital planes of the binary systems in other stellar clusters.
