In spite of the value and interest of a small solar observatory, comparatively little has been published on the practical design, installation and adjustment of such a facility. This paper describes a two-mirror polar heliostat feeding a 6.2m fixed vertical telescope, details its installation and adjustment, and shows how it may be used to demonstrate and investigate a number of solar phenomena.
