An UVX survey of quasars in the field of SA 94 has been carried out by Huang and Usher (1984). The present paper discusses objective-prism spectral classification of the candidates found in that survey. Among 559 objects from Huang and Usher's survey, 122 are here classified as quasars, 35 extragalactic H II regions and 78 featureless continuum. The remaining 324 objects seem normal stars. These findings are used to derive an estimate of the completeness of the Barbieri and Cristiani (1985) survey in the same field and of the surface density of quasars down to B = 19.5.
