A system of classification for the shapes of the ultraviolet emission
lines k(2795) and h(2803) of Mg II - important sources of information
about stellar chromospheres - is developed. The application of this
system is carried out in relation to 75 stars; the classified shapes of
their k and h Mg II lines are presented in a table.
