We have observed the G9.62+0.19 region of massive star formation with the IRAM 30 m single-dish telescope in the HCO+(1-0), SO(43-32), and SiO(5-4) spectral lines, and with the IRAM Plateau de Bure interferometer in the 3 mm continuum and the HCO+(1-0) and CH3OH(153-144) A- spectral lines. We detect a high-velocity molecular ouflow with a total velocity extent of at least 60 km s-1. The orientation of the outflow axis is very close to the line of sight. Our estimates of the mass and energetics of the outflowing gas indicate that a massive object must be responsible for driving the flow, with the hot core region G9.62+0.19 F as the most likely candidate. We also detect emission from hot methanol coincident with the position of continuum component E, but CH3OH(153-144) A- is not detected at the position of the G9.62+0.19 F hot core region. Based on observations carried out with the IRAM 30 m Telescope and the IRAM Plateau de Bure Interferometer. IRAM is supported by INSU/CNRS (France), MPG (Germany), and IGN (Spain).
