Greek mathematician, born in Alexandria, Egypt (possibly), wrote many
books, of which only one, Sphaerica, on spherical astronomy, has
survived, and including Menelaus Theorem, on a property of spherical
triangles. PTOLEMY mentions astronomical observations made by Menelaus
in Rome in the year 98....
