Minister, born in Ghent, Belgium, publishing books on mathematics and
astronomy, in which he supported Copernican theories. However, he could
not believe in non-circular planetary motions and did not accept
KEPLER's theory of elliptical planetary motion, publishing astronomical
tables which he hoped (in vain) would support COPERNICUS over Kepler....
