This is my final 'From the President' column, and I can reflect on two years that have passed even more rapidly than I could anticipate. Most people feel that life seems to accelerate as one ages ( that is well known ( but my Presidency has seemed to pass within the blink of an eye. On taking over the Chairmanship of the Association, I am sure I was not the first President to hope for both marvellous astronomical events, and also the ability to improve the Association in some way. The astronomy has certainly been great fun, with spectacular events and splendid amateur achievement. I hope the latter has occurred too, but that is for others to judge.
