SS Cygni (SS Cyg) is a long orbital period (Porb=6.6 h) cataclysmic
variable of the dwarf nova (DN) subclass, characterized by semiperiodic
brightness changes due to outbursts. This CLOSE BINARY STAR consists of
a WHITE DWARF primary which accretes matter from a low-mass,
ROCHE-LOBE-filling secondary star....
