Scientific paper

Some adiabatic models of Jupiter and Saturn are reviewed along with the observational data on which they are based. The relevant chemical elements and compounds in the make up of the planets are grouped according to volatility, and their relative abundances are discussed. Improved equations of state for hydrogen and the basic groups of materials are derived.
