Dr Martin H Jones MBE
I worked with John at UMIST 1967 -75. Not only was he a creative innovative physicist, he was also a champion of the applications of science in Industry and Society. John was instrumental in the founding of the Applied Physics Unit, a pioneering consultancy business dedicated to providing the opportunity for university physicists to add value to Businesses such as ICI and British Gas. He was 25 years ahead of his time.
