Recently, X-ray spatially resolved spectroscopy has been successfully used for direct measurements of gas bulk velocities in the ICM. This is a relatively ``new" technique that can provide fundamental clues as to the evolutionary stage of galaxy clusters. We present some preliminary results on gas bulk velocity measurements on several clusters and discuss some issues related to the detection of large (>1000 km/s) intracluster gas bulk motions with current X-ray satellites as well as using alternatives to X-ray analyses, e.g., with differential S-Z effect.
