Spectroscopic observations in the range 6000-6800 A and photoelectric observations in the standard B and V bands obtained for the Be star 69 Orionis during the periods from November 1977 through January 1978 and October 1978 through February 1979 are reported. Analysis of the variations in the equivalent widths and radial velocities of the observed H-alpha emission, the violet and red emissions and the central absorption reveals a significant motion of matter from the star towards the observer during the initial observation period characterized by intense emission, and a decrease in envelope rotation as the emission begins to disappear. No significant variations in photoelectric intensities are observed during a given night or from one night to the next or between the two periods, which may be explained by the fact that the star is viewed almost equator-on.
