The results of radiochemical and instrumental neutron activation analyses and of atomic absorption studies of the Netschaevo meteorite are discussed. The classification of the silicate portion as an ordinary chondrite is indicated by its abundances of refractory lithophiles, Mg, Al, and Ca; the Zn abundance is 1.6 standard deviations lower than that typically found in ordinary chondrites but within the observed range. The abundances of siderophile elements and Fe, the Au/Ni and Ir/Ni ratios, and the Fe content of the ferromagnesian minerals place this meteorite along an extension of the ordinary chondrite fractionation sequence to higher Fe/Si ratios. To be consistent with evidence, models accounting for the ordinary chondrite sequence must produce materials having Fe/Si ratios 25% greater than those in CI carbonaceous chondrites.
