Spectral and kinematic characteristics are reported for a double Herbig-Haro object originally observed in forbidden O I 6300-A emission in the Orion Nebula (M42). Spectral observations in forbidden lines of O I and S II indicate that one component has a heliocentric radial velocity of -240 km/s and the other component exhibits no significant velocity shift relative to the lines of M42. Rough estimates of some parameters of the two components are offered as evidence in favor of the hypothesis that the spectra of all Herbig-Haro objects are shock-excited.
