The propagation of galactic cosmic rays in a spherically symmetric solar cavity is modeled mathematically, and effects of changing various parameters, particularly the cavity radius, are studied. Analytical solutions involving different dimensionless parameters are evaluated, and the variation of these parameters with respect to other dimensionless parameters is discussed. In the case of a constant cavity boundary radius, the results are shown to confirm previous studies in which the galactic spectrum obtained was monoenergetic or nearly so. It is also found that the mean distribution function with respect to momentum at fixed heliocentric distance increases as the boundary radius is increased, presumably due to reduction from free escape across the boundary.
