The isotopic composition and the concentration of xenon in samples of lunar soil delivered by Luna 16 and Luna 20 from Mare Fecunditatis and the highland area, respectively, were analyzed and compared with Xe data obtained by Shukoliukov et al. (1988) for samples from Mare Crisium. The new data revealed the presence in these samples of several anomalous Xe components similar to those found in the Mare Crisium, including spallogenic Xe produced by galactic and solar cosmic rays, the surface-correlated trapped Xe of the SUCOR type, Xe from the transient atmosphere of the moon, and primary solar Xe of a peculiar type (1100-1200 C). The results suggest that the SUCOR originates not from the solar exosphere but is a mixture of the above components formed in the course of the redistribution of volatiles as a result of meteoritic bombardment of the moon.
