We request 20.5 hours (split into two sessions) for a pilot project to study 25 GHz methanol masers and their thermal environment using the Compact Array Broadband Backend (CABB). The project involves observations of reasonably bright sources and is a good CABB commissioning test. It will deliver accurate positions of a number of 25 GHz masers and high resolution images of the thermal methanol, CS and its isotope substituted variants. This information will be used to determine temperature and density in both the masing and quiescent gas, to identify outflows associated with the masers and look for evidence of gradients in the physical parameters of the shocked gas.
